This is probably more relevant for the future, since from what I can see recommendations are not implemented, but I would want an option to map my custom state to one of the special ones for the purposes of the recommendation (or even "promoting" the special states to a sort of category that multiple states can belong to). For example:

  • I have a custom state Forgotten for games I simply forgot to finish. This should probably map to On hold.
  • I also have a Backlog (DLC) state for games I finished the main story for, but did not touch any of the DLC that I might own.

And in the case we might decide to switch the special states to categories (thus having common views for all states that map to a category), I might even add states such as: Not completed for games I did not finish all side quests or paths for, Less than 100% for games I did not get all achievements for, etc.

Hello @acovaci , and first of all, thank you for your suggestions!
Community ideas are always the best and help us all create a tool that’s useful for everyone.

The idea of mapping custom states to special (let’s call them "base") ones is a really nice touch. It would help with organization and essentially work like "sub-states." For example, a broad category like "On Hold" could include games in "On Hold," "Paused," or "Waiting for DLC," while sub-categories would help clarify the specific reason a game is on hold.

I also really like the idea that a user could add a single state, such as "Waiting for DLC," and still see the game when searching for "On Hold"—instead of having to add multiple states (which isn’t possible by design) or check multiple ones separately.

I will keep the Github issue open so we can return to it in the future.
Feel free to share anything you want here on Github or on Discord at https://discord.gg/nbzVPAqwbX wherever you feel more comfortable.

And again, thanks for your time
