Slow keyboard

I don't know if this is specific to Windows, but at least on my machine the keyboard input is slow. I was able to track down the issue to this line:

Is there a reason for this and is there a way to customize/turn it off? Would you consider a PR to allow us to switch this off or customize it?

Try commenting out that line and run the UICatalog app; notice how much more response the list is. Also make sure this is checked in settings:

This kind of thing should be fixed with the big v2 drivers rewrite, see #3837

Specifically the new ConsoleInput base class runs in a dedicated thread and has a 20ms polling:

Does version 2.0.0-prealpha.1545 (just saw it on NuGet) have the changes from your PR?

Not yet no, it is still in review.

My PR when merged will let you call init with 2 new drivers. "v2win" and "v2net". These will have the new loop, input and rendering etc. There will likely be issues that will come up with them as it is a lot of new code and changes fundamentally the render cycle (no more arbitrary rendering - adding iteration frame limit etc). This is why both sets of drivers will run side by side (i.e. you can pick which to use) for a while.
