Docker NodeJS base images used by Home Assistant Community Add-ons.

About

These are the NodeJS add-on base images for the Home Assistant Community Add-ons and are created to give the project more control over the NodeJS version used.

Main reason for this, is because in Alpine 3.19 shipped with NodeJS v20, which, at the time of writing, could not be used on armv7 when building Docker images. This is caused by a QEMU bug, which has been known since 2020.

To unblock the community add-ons, we decided to create our own base images, which are based on Alpine 3.19, but ships with NodeJS v18.

Changelog & Releases

This repository keeps a change log using GitHub's releases functionality. The format of the log is based on Keep a Changelog.

  • MAJOR: Incompatible or major changes.
  • MINOR: Backwards-compatible new features and enhancements.
  • PATCH: Backwards-compatible bugfixes and package updates.
