Don't know if you need to make internal adjustments but peerDependencies won't work with the latest axe-core@4:

  "peerDependencies": {
    "axe-core": ">=2.2.3 <4",
  }

We are also having an issue with this. Btw, there should be no impact to the codebase by allowing 4.0.x axe-core.
