I created a backup by going to Safety->Backup wallet, put in a password and clicked backup. I found the backup in my Downloads folder, transferred it to my computer, renamed it to "hive-test", copied that to my Downloads folder, and tried to restore. After putting in the password, it tells me "Wallet could not be restored: cannot read keys Bad password?" The password is correct. If i rename the file to its original filename, it works with the same password.

It seems that if the filename starts with "hive-android-wallet" the restore will work, otherwise it doesn't work. A restore shouldn't care about the filename.

I fixed this issue in Bitcoin Wallet. After some testing in the current 4.0 alpha 4 build, I'll release it to 3.x.

See my recent post on this alpha testing thread: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/bitcoinj/GO3xnRUhlGs/Q44tI22tOB0J
