Context

Currently, many of the photos of public art we use from the MOCA website are extremely pixelated and outdated. There is an opportunity here to leverage social media platforms to collect more recent images using geotag filters from API providers such as Instagram. These images can be shown below the official MOCA provided images, and provide a live stream of view of the art pieces as interacted with by the public.

Potential Solution

Connect with the Instagram API and collect images for each Public Art location. Show these images below the official ones.

Noting that we could also probably take over some Instagram tags such as #artinhonolulu-{artPiece.name} to further filter these art pieces down, in addition to geotagged filters.
