Energy Dashboard: issues when comparing months with none matching number of days. #24176

Checklist

  • I have cleared the cache of my browser.
  • I have tried a different browser to see if it is related to my browser.
  • I have tried reproducing the issue in safe mode to rule out problems with unsupported custom resources.

Describe the issue you are experiencing

when comparing energy data in Monthly view when the months do not have the same number of days (February 28 days with January 31 days) the data view is not correct.

as you can see it merges the last 3 days of January in to one bar for the last day in February.

Describe the behavior you expected

it should show separate bars for the last 3 days of January, just with no bars for February.

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. open Energy Dashbaord
  2. go to date picker and select "This month"
  3. then select Compare

What version of Home Assistant Core has the issue?

core-2025.2.2

What was the last working version of Home Assistant Core?

core-2025.1.x

In which browser are you experiencing the issue?

Sarari

Which operating system are you using to run this browser?

macOS 15.3
