User permissions

How are user permissions picked? Which DB tables store the user and permission mapping information. I have done a fresh installation and I am using demo database so haven't created anything new. I am trying to understand what drives the sidebar menus for one user vs. other and how are those permissions checked.

I did read that blog earlier. My confusion is I am dealing with your demo database and it seems by default that demo database has permission built in. For example across 2 different users (aka admin and benjamin.parker) I can see that sidebar.html excludes certain menus for benjamin. My question is how is that happening because in demo database all the permissions and groups related tables are empty. Is there another configuration that is doing that?
Please advise.
PS: I am new to Django and learning it with your application too.

I think I understand how it is working. But could you confirm that when I load your demo DB, it doesn't load users with necessary permissions. It is expected that I will add necessary permissions even in demo database, right?

Hi @qwikops ,
When loading the demo database, user permissions are not pre-configured. By default, Horilla comes with three user roles:

Super Admin: Has full permissions across the system.
Reporting Manager: Can manage some employee data for those who report to them.
Employee: Can only manage their own personal data.
