Hello i'd be cool if there was native support for video's and programs to run as the background.
i whouldn't mind making some processing or openframeworks backgrounds for instantOS.
altho you might consider it to heavy a load.

Done.
You can now put any program into the background by pressing super+alt+shift+control+period (pretty much impossible to hit on accident). So your wallpaper would have to be a window, preferably resizeable, that plays the wallpaper on loop.
I probably won't make it the default but I'd be happy to include something like this as an optional feature. The finished program would be put as the desktop automatically.
To get the new feature, you need the git version of instantWM. Clone it (on an instantOS install) and run the build.sh script. Then do super + shift q to restart the wm.
