It's possible this gem is no longer needed with a merged upstream fix to Rails

Based on the discussion from this gem's author @jakeonrails and the response from Rafael, rails/rails#53281 may remove the need for this gem if it works as intended in Rails core! Though, as of the writing of this comment, that commit is not in an official Rails release yet, so you'd need to be running on edge Rails.
