I had Jamulus problems tonight...

Hi folks. I tried using Jamulus tonight and usually it is very clear audio, with a slight delay of maybe 35mS. But tonight my delay was double that and the audio was garbled and my jitter was red which it usually isn't. Something has changed. I tried rebooting my computer and also closing and reopening Jamulus - it was the same. I then tried updating... I'm currently on 3.9.1... I downloaded 3.11.0 but it wouldn't let me install... it had the greyed out no entry sign. I am using a Mac running Catalina. Would anyone have any ideas what the problem might be please?

Did you install the Jamulus build of 3.11.0 for Legacy Mac OS versions? You can find it here. Scroll down to 3.11.0, the Assets list, then click View All Assets, and click on the "mac_legacy.dmg" file to download it.

Thanks Chris. I can't remember what it was called exactly - but I'll try your suggestion.

So 3.11.0 should be Catalina compatible then...?

I really don't know what could have happened... it's been working perfectly for years and I never disturb it, just turn it on.
Something definitely changed.

I can't remember if the "regular" build of Jamulus for MacOS supports only MacOS 11 (Big Sur) and later, or if it also supports MacOS 10.15 (Catalina). So you may need the "legacy" build for MacOS 10 and earlier.

That sounds more like network problems at your provider.
Changing the Jamulus version will not change the ping times at all.
If it doesn't get back to normal by itself ask your provider what is up.
