Please ensure you have read the server overview
After installing Jamulus you will find an entry for "Jamulus server" in the Windows start menu, or in Applications on Mac (assuming you put the files from the install there from these instructions).
When starting the server, it automatically registers at the official central server. Just type in the name, city and country so that other users can easily identify you. Please also see this important note on Central Servers.
If you want the server to be started automatically on system start, enable the corresponding check box.
See also this excellent guide to running a private server by Simon Tomlinson on Facebook.
