Cannot send data

Context: I am leaving whole installation for a month. Windows PC laptop is controlling DMX lights trough touchdesigner and processing script with your library is sending data from TD.

in current form of installation lights are turned off grid by museum service for nights but the laptop with FDTI dmx controller stays open.

After some time processing script says: Cannot send data. Propably the cause is that electricity installation problem in a room (in another exhibition turning on regular lights in the room resetted another DMX usb device). It is just my assumption.

Do you know any other causes of the "Cannot send data" problem? Does your library contain a solution to it? Could i.e. the script reset by itself when "cannot send data" is present? Can I prevent it any another way?

Hmm, i'm not sure exactly but the problem is probably the DMX usb device resetting due to the power fluctation. They aren't the most robust devices.

I can't reset the device from within processing but I can make it output it's current status to an ouput file or something like that? You can have a watchdog check the file and restart the computer if necessary? Feel free to email me: [email protected] if you need some help with this.
