Description of the new feature / enhancement

Is it possible to set the untis for example a diameter also in metric instead of imperial. If there is already an option to set it in metric please let me know where to find it in the tool

Scenario when this would be used?

It's easier for users that are working in the metric dimension to see if something is write. Now i have to calculate it back from imperial to metric

@OKappert did you read the explanation in #270 that Roman pointed out? Did you understand it? Do you need further explanation?

@Nice3point This request is basically (re-) raising a fundamental question: is RevitLookup a RVT database debugging tool for developers, or a utility tool for end users to explore the database more comfortably, including bells and whistles like unit conversion. In the past, it was the former; apparently, there is some interest in the latter.

@jeremytammik Of course we can add conversion to the metric system (as I only use metric) but then we need to create conversion rules and support quite a few classes and properties. For example conversion can be supported by Revit parameter, but width of UI component can't. Or conversion is needed for wall height but not for material brightness. Each case has to be handled individually, and who knows how many such values there are, 1000, 1000000 ? If we add support only for element parameters, the other part of RevitLookup will still have feet to cause confusion

@Nice3point i totally agree and think we should stay away from that for now, as agreed when discussing #270
