A few weeks ago I had a call with @kendallnelson where Kendall and I started putting together a list of internship / outreach programs, their duration, and so on and so forth. Please, take a look at the Outreach / Internship programs.

This very first step will allow the community to think and have a better visibility of the kind of projects we can offer, what kind of newcomers we'd expect from each one of the programs, so we can tailor ideas specifically to what suits each one of the programs.

The next logical step would be to start putting together, in a similar wiki page, our onboard materials, so we can point newcomers to them.

Again, this is the very first step of what would be amazing if we could make it something that's part of our community and regularly participate in such programs.

While here, @bergwolf, I remember Ali / Ant had their own specific program, which would be really worth it to also be added there.

Awesome progress!

I think at this point all I can find is a set of slides for onboarding materials? Any links I am missing? This could also be built into a document in the main kata repo.. a CONTRIBUTING.RST or similar. I find wikis often get forgotten and outdated. The most important thing is that wherever you chose its only ONE place so that you don't have to maintain everything in multiple locations and risk things getting outdated and confusing new contributors. Please let me know how I can help!

Again, this is the very first step of what would be amazing if we could make it something that's part of our community and regularly participate in such programs.

While here, @bergwolf, I remember Ali / Ant had their own specific program, which would be really worth it to also be added there.

I look forward to hearing more about this! Maybe we could set up a call for next week?

@fidencio Could we subdivide that into the various action items you listed? I really like your idea about onboarding documents. Have you created a separate issue for that?

Yes, please!

I haven't. Do you think we can use this issue as a "tracking issue"?
