First of all, THANK YOU @liamcain for this wonderful plugin.
I love using Things for Task management, and I love using Obsidian. So I am delighted this integration exists.
That said, I have been using Things for over 10 years (since August 2012). So, like mentioned in the Disclaimer section of this projects' repo, when running this plugin for the first time an enormous amount of historic Daily notes is being generated. Having 10+ year's worth of daily notes that only contain logged things tasks unfortunately is very sub-optimal.
If it was possible to include a date selection field in the Obsidian plugin settings for a cutoff date with only entities from Things newer than that cutoff date being processed that would be marvelous. I believe #24 is wishing for something similar.
Considering that this is currently also the one big caveat described in the Disclaimer, I feel this would be a valuable improvement.
The initial sync will backfill your entire Things Logbook into Obsidian. This potentially means creating/modifying hundreds of files. I recommend testing this plugin out in a new vault first to make sure you're happy with the result.
Do you have an intuition whether inclusion of such filter logic might be hard? I am a programmer myself but don't have any experience with Obsidian Plugin development so far (and very little experience with Javascript). If you could point out the relevant segment of code, I can also take a look over the Christmas days and see if I manage to make the required adjustment and contribute a PR.
Once again, thank you for all your efforts, it is highly appreciated.
Wishing you a beautiful Christmas time,
Arno
