Hi, How can I track plates in home assistant now? I tried the previous answer but apparently HA no longer supports adding mqtt sensors in yaml.

It looks like there may be a better opportunity to add the plates with version 0.15 of Frigate. However, I am not sure if @ljmerza is still active on the project?

Hey yes I don't have a ton of free time at the moment but would still like to keep this working in general at least

That is great news @ljmerza ! If you have a look at 0.15, you will see there is a new function that lets you view all the events. Then there is a text box / description. This pass through the images using 3 different AI models and update the description. However it is pretty crappy at licence plates compared to your system. So, if there were a way for the AI to review it, then your system to append the licence plate, it would be pretty amazing. They have also added search into the area, which means you can search that description and if your plates system gets into it, then you would also be able to search plates!

Here are the beta docs to give you a better idea of what my jibber means:

Looks like the ability to adjust the description has been implemented here. Wish I had more free time myself to play around with this.
