Currently it seems that because of rsyslogd, this container needs to run as root. So on OpenShift for example this requires the "anyuid" SCC. But MaxScale itself seems to only bind to high ports and doesn't seem to have a specific requirement for root.
Would it not be possible to get rid of rsyslogd so the container can run under an arbitrary UID? Or to reconfigure rsyslogd to not require a listener on a privileged port?
There's an unofficial image that can do it, it simply runs maxscale directly as a specific user and without a wrapper.
