I'm a big fan of RSS Guard, especially how it is so customizable!
However, some actions that are available to the article list toolbar are not available to the status bar, such as the article search box, the article list filter and the article highlighter.

How to reproduce?
Go to Tools -> Settings -> User interface -> Toolbars
In the Toolbar editor dropdown box, select Toolbar for articles list
As you can see, the article search box, the article list filter and the article highlighter actions appear:
In the Toolbar editor dropdown box, select Statusbar
Note that the previously mentioned actions do not appear:

Hi, from UX point-of-view your suggestion makes sense and technically could be added, but the technical aspect of this is rather not-so-easy. So yes, can be added with some work.
Will keep this open but as you maybe noted from the looong list of open issues, there is really very very limited time for me to focus on RSS Guard stuff (family, other stuff).
It is sad, but RSS Guard could heavily use a few other capable C++/Qt developers doing some bits.
