Request: Add-On for Distro TV #873
Comments
Thanks, I have been able to install that DistroTV add-on using a downloaded ZIP file, but will it update automatically when the author updates it? I have not been able to find a URL for their repository. Also, that add-on does not seem to include the EPG data that is available on Distro's website? @matthuisman . |
it makes it much less likely :) |
PS: i think his repo zip is: https://github.com/MetalChris/repository.matrix/blob/main/zips/repository.matrix/repository.matrix-2024.05.05.zip |
you need a repo installed if you want autoupdates |
@matthuisman That looks like the URL that I was trying to use, but I think that I was doing it incorrectly. I was following the same principle as for your SlyGuy repo, by putting it in as a new source under "File Manager". I now realise that I should have downloaded the ZIP file to the device and used "Install from zip file" instead. I've got it working now - no EPG unfortunately... . |
Now and next EPG is available from the context menu. |
@Arkadia2008 In the DistroTV add-on, that is a slow and laborious process. I contacted the add-on author about this, but I interpreted their response as basically "it is what it is". . |
@Paul608085, My DistroTV add-on "is what it is" because of my limited skills. It's not an add-on that I use regularly and was created at the request of another user at the Kodi forum. Matt's skill level is far beyond mine. If @matthuisman has the time, and is interested in creating a more feature rich version of DistroTV, I'm all for it. |
I was wondering if you would be able to create a Kodi Add-On for "Distro TV" please?
https://www.distro.tv
They have a large number of free streaming channels, quite a few of which I have not yet found in any other of your Kodi Add-Ons.
They neatly group their channels in to genre groups, and have an EPG that covers the following two hours or so - both accessed via the icons in the top right corner of their app or web page.
Distro TV Android app on Google Play Store:

Hoping this is possible please,
TIA.
