Over the past month (I don't know exactly when it started, I don't use Max a lot) I'm having trouble with HDR feature.

I have a Fire TV 4K Max. Max app plays fine. 4K content plays fine on the addon with Kodi. But HDR content is glitchy / pixelated. If I disable HDR10 on addon settings then it plays fine. I don't know if the same applies to Dolby Vision because my TV doesn't have that technology.

I tried with Dune Prophecy and Dune part 2.

Disney+ HDR10 content is fine on my Fire TV 4K Max. Also other addons not by @matthuisman, like PrimeVideo or Movistar plays HDR10 just fine.

I can provide more tests or logs if you want.

My setup:

Fire TV 4K Max (first gen)
Kodi 21.1 Omega
Max addon 0.1.6
InputStream Adaptative 21.5.7
InputStream Helper (the normal one) 0.7.0

Thanks in advance!

I just tried. I only have "Dolby Vision" and "HDR10+" (which my TV is capable, BTW) there, I tried with both enabled and both disabled, no difference, MAX seems to trigger HDR10 on my TV. BTW, needless to say that official apps shows the content fine.

Do you think opening an issue on the inputstream adaptative repo would make any difference? Is it just me, or Fire TV users?

Actually, some time ago I (and others) had a somehow similar problem:

xbmc/inputstream.adaptive#1197
Sandmann79/xbmc#676

IIRC, updating inputstream adaptative (and my Kodi from 19 to 20) fixed it, something was not well implemented with Amazon data received.

I think this is a similar problem, but I get the feeling (I'm not talking about you @matthuisman, but in general) that no one wants to stop to investigate this. I would, but I have no idea how to debug this, or how the data is received, or how Kodi and its addons work... and I know no one is getting money for this work, and of course I am in no position to demand anything, and I don't want to, but people who develops addons for VOD platforms, or the developers of the inputstream adaptive addon, could care a little about if the products they develop are working correctly or not.

For the time being, I would like to know if it's just me or there are more affected users. I'll probably post on inputstream adaptative repo, and check if someone there as a clue.

In any case, thanks for replying!
