Guidelines for Experienced Developers

Hey Matt,
I just read your blog on finding the first developer gig. It was very insightful. However, it focussed on first-time job hunters. I am an experienced Software Developer(8 years) and still feel like there's a huge learning curve ahead of me.
So I request you to share your thoughts on how, or which direction, experienced Software Developers like myself can take to make a better career. Also please share your thoughts on how one can strengthen their debugging skills.
