Microsoft PowerToys version

0,88,0

Installation method

PowerToys auto-update

Running as admin

Yes

Area(s) with issue?

FancyZones

Steps to reproduce

I have the same screen model twice. I connect both of them via USB-c. Windows keeps the upper and lower screen correctly aligned, even if I connect the monitors to the opposite USB-c ports. However, FancyZones seems to tie the configuration to the port where the monitor is connected. This means the fancyzones configured for the upper monitor are on the lower monitor if I swap the USB-c ports on the computer.

✔️ Expected Behavior

FancyZones uses the same identification method, that windows uses to connect layout to monitor.

❌ Actual Behavior

FancyZones seems to tie the configuration to the usb-c port of the connected monitor.
