Would be nice if it was possible to press/release the Shift key AFTER you have opened the Quick Accent panel. As it is now, if I want to insert a È I have to press Shift-E, keep them pressed and then press Space or the arrows. After I've opened the panel, the state of the Shift key becomes irrelevant (I can release it and the case will remain uppercase). It is slightly fatiguing to do this, because when you do it you put your weight on your little finger (that you use to press the Shift key and then you are tempted to continue to press the Shift while you are selecting the character.) What I suggest is that inside the panel, a single press of the Shift key causes the inversion of the current case. So if I'm in "upper case mode", a single press of the shift will change the panel to "lower case mode", while if I'm in "lower case mode", a single press of the shift will change the panel to "upper case mode" (so inside the panel the shift key will be equivalent to the caps-lock key). In this way I could press e+Space, open the panel, see that I'm in lower case mode, press shift, switch to upper case mode, select the È, release the e key.
Scenario when this would be used?
Inserting upper case accented letters.
