unable to build for nano 20k on linux

I am unable to build the project as is on linux with gowin ide. Gowin 1.9.10.03 (build 77022)
ERROR (RP0006) : The number(28252(27003 LUTs, 907 ALUs, 0 ROM16s, 57 SSRAMs)) of logic in the design exceeds the resource limit(20736) of current device

This is a known problem. 1.9.9 works fine. 1.9.10 turns the MMC5 extended memory into registers, resulting in the error.
