I am not sure how to use this with my stream deck. Do you install a new plugin on the stream deck or do I use one of the existing buttons to communicate with this plugin installed on my node red?

Hello, the purpose of this node is to access the Streamdeck hardware directly from Node-RED so you cannot run the Streamdeck software alongside it.
If you simply want to use the streamdeck software with Node-RED to send button presses you can use the open website action in conjunction with the http in and http out nodes in Node-RED.
