Can one install office suites or VSCode stuff on DexTop?

Hi guys,

Just to make sure I can't do so -- I tried installing WPS Office, but it seemed impossible because we need APT packages.

Can we access the proot environment and install apps?

By far I don't know how to access the proot environment.
Although apt are available, some packages aren't available in Termux source.
I tried adding debian arm64 sources, but they don't work. Desperate somehow.

Please have a look at the readme.

You need to enter proot using the 'container-session' command

default user is termux:

container-session -u termux -d

You can only install packages that have .deb extensions to them, assuming all dependencies are met for aarch64 architecture - dextop only supports armv8/aarch64

Umm... WPS requires some other dependencies for PDF viewing, and installing directly via deb will hamper some functionalities. This is where WPS is bad at.

Also, I realize that it's not that straightforward to set up these things out of the box (I might need to move the .desktop files manually and edit the execution commands). I haven't tried installing VSCode yet, but I cannot figure out how to install WPS Office suite on this platform (i'm a Chinese user, and WPS is the best i can use so far)

I'm actually not familiar at all with something like that, and it added a burden for me. Dextop IS a good platform, but maybe I'm not really skilled to use it properly...
