This is the repository for dacha, an open-source new-tab page.
When this extension is installed, you may save a copy of static web content to memory and use it as your new tab page.
Navigate to the site you want to set to the new-tab page, and click the dacha button in the extensions toolbar.
- Pico weight - extremely light, ~20 lines of code.
- Easy to modify
- Easy to audit - no minification, no obfuscation, no bullshit.
- Manifest V3 - this requires Chrome 88 or higher, but is reasonably future proof.
- Minimal permissions - by design, can not access your browsing history or other data.
- Clone this project
- In Chrome | Extensions, enable Developer Mode.
- Click "load unpacked", choose the project folder.

This was designed to be a drop-in component for other extensions - if you are interested in bundling dacha with your extension, please pay special attention to the 3rd clause of the BSD license.
