I need to write a proposal for accepting the new bylaws, and establishing officer role elections.

I reached out to Texas Appleseed about getting a pro bono lawyer to help take a look at things and make sure everything is legally kosher but they don't really do that kind of work. I think it would be good if we could do that, but if not we should start tightening the rope on this steer and get stuff finalized and done soon (next monthish) IMO.

Proposal for accepting the bylaws - I like this; I think it'll be stronger than if only the board voted. Wonder if definition of membership is a pre-reqiisite tho?

Elections - also a fan; power should be held by the people doing the work

Yes, board members vote on proposals. So when I first read "I need to write a proposal for accepting the new bylaws" I was like, 'wait is he talking about just bringing it to the board or something different? surely not the former because that's ez pz?" (But it's only ezpz since I've been doing it for a while).

I do think elections should be broader than currently has been though, otherwise cronyism
