Katex and remarkMath are not working based on the example

Hi all,

I am using the example provided: https://github.com/remarkjs/react-markdown?tab=readme-ov-file#use-remark-and-rehype-plugins-math

So, my code looks something like this:

import Markdown from 'react-markdown'
import rehypeKatex from 'rehype-katex'
import remarkMath from 'remark-math'
import 'katex/dist/katex.min.css'

...
<Markdown remarkPlugins={[remarkMath]} rehypePlugins={[rehypeKatex]}>{message.content}</Markdown>

The markdown is getting parsed properly, but it seems like the formulas are not getting picked up.

I am not 100% sure how to debug it. There are no errors or anything.

That's requires sn extra extension https://mhchem.github.io/MathJax-mhchem/ or https://github.com/KaTeX/KaTeX/blob/main/contrib/mhchem/README.md
