Hi,

I noticed that pretendard-jp works with traditional Chinese characters but not simplified ones. It would be very useful to have a version of Pretendard that works for simplified Chinese, is this possible?

Thanks!

Currently, we only support Chinese characters for Japanese. We are not in a full support plan so far,
but it can only be supported when a version that supports all CJK is released in the future.

Thank you for your interest in our fonts, and this issue will remain open until official Chinese support (or CJK support) in the future.

Your opinion has been forwarded to @orioncactus, the developer of this font, and we will try to reflect it as soon as possible.

Hello! Sadly the priority of font stabilization(#55) and adding to Google Fonts is higher for now. Originally I was considering releasing Pretendard SC/TC/HK at the end of this year, but it has been delayed. So I'm considering 2Q 2023 at the earliest.

As @kms0219kms said, I'll open this issue until Pretendard family supports SC, and I'll notice here when there's an update. Thank you!

We apologize for delaying, but #55 and #7, #108, #112 is not solved yet.
We will solve that issues, and we will make update including this issue.

+1 on this. Are there any simplified-cn fonts that we could use in the meantime that looks fairly okay when used alongside with Pretendard's traditional CN fonts?

I would suggest you use Noto Sans CJK CN in the meantime. Pretendard is based on Noto Fonts, so it should be okay to use.
