A basic function to view next and previous image will make viewing more convenient.

Amen to that - like the current "AVIF Viewer" usability is very limited if each and every file has to be opened with the File Manager app. No other Viewer app seems to have JPEG-XL capability at the moment.

The JXL Viewer doesn't ask for any permissions, and being a non-dev on Android I have no idea how feasible basic swipe gestures would be.
