Steps to replicate:

Download an image from https://people.csail.mit.edu/ericchan/hdr/hdr-jxl.php
Open with JXLviewer
Observe the color differences

Hi, thanks for the report !

Do you have any resource on HDR image decoding with libjxl or any examples of app supporting HDR images (other than chrome) ?

Conversely, libjxl seems to have a # of open HDR-related issues. Maybe check/report there 1st?

libjxl v0.9.0 seems to have improved the situation.
