JAQ: When exactly is executeDelayed required?

thanks for your great library.

I have just a question (JAQ) regarding the usage of executeDelayed. Under which conditions is it really required?
According to the documentation you need it just for ESP8266. But in some thread also ESP-C3 is mentioned.
So, what are the exact criteria to use it?
And, as a result, is it required for a ESP32-WROOM-32?
