Significant Re-positioning in overview when dock disabled (Gnome Shell 42)

Apparently, disabling the dock only hides it below the screen bottom. On 42.1, when entering overview mode, the dock is visible at the bottom of the screen before being visually removed.

This results in significant re-positioning and re-rendering. For me, it takes over a second until positioning of windows and other overview components is still.
