Does the name have any meaning?

I was curious regarding the subj, for example famous grep is shortened from "Globally search for a Regular Expression and Print', so i wonder what's the backstory with fend?

There's no specific meaning. I actually found it by running cat /usr/share/dict/words|grep '^....$'|sort -R|less and looking for a nice, short word that would make for a good command name. I do also like how it sounds similar to "friend".

(i like the second one, as the reason why i'm using fend is actually because it starting fast unlike python's repl which i've used as a calc before)
