After updating box64 and box86 to the latest versions (box64-generic-arm 0.3.3+20250120T062614.e6eac93-1 for box64), I tried to launch Red Dead Redemption II, but received the following error message once it launched:

It reads:

Unable to launch game, please try reinstalling the game.

Here are the console logs during the game launch, from the moment I clicked 'Play' in steam's UI to the point after I clicked OK to dismiss the error message.

some SIGILL, probably some decrypting that goes wrong. I'll have to download and test on my side, that will take time!

@ptitSeb - heh, even at 500 Mbps download speed this one took like an hour!

@geerlingguy just out of curiosity, have you tried playing around with box64's environment variables?

I have pushed some profile for RDR2 lately. But while it start for me (from steam), it doesn't fully work yet...

Had rdr2 running under micewine on box64 0.3.2 but a cracked version so it's definitely due to the drm

Un-cracked rdr2 needs Windows syscall emulation, so it needs Proton (because there is a special syscall emulation for that precise game) and 48 bits address space (which is needed for windows syscall emulation to work).
