Recently, Cinnamon has added a native setting for the nightshift feature, making Redshift obsolete. This would also mean that from now on, updated systems won't be using Redshift, and therefore, QRedshift neither. Therefore, the only purpose of this project is to support systems with an older version of Cinnamon.
Does this mean that this project and it's development will eventually practically retire and only exist as legacy software?

QRedShift still allows you to turn the temperature lower than the Mint native setting I believe, it also allows you to turn down the brightness/white point lower than minimum brightness of your display which is fantastic for laptops after dark.
