I just realised that the version in the GitHub repo (which contains format = raw) is 1.4.0, and the version on CRAN is also 1.4 (which does not contain format = raw)?

Thanks @rkrug for reporting. Looks like the CRAN version is July 11, 2024. We should bump the github version to 1.4.0.9000 in our next PR.
