I'm also interested if this PPA is still supported and if there is hope for newer Chromium versions to be released

Hi,

Unfortunately, I'm not planning on releasing any newer versions of Chromium or updating the build files. I've since switched to Firefox, and that combined with a change in personal interests/free time means that I can't give enough time to this PPA to release newer working versions.
