hello,
the way you store different versions of the parts doesn't make advantage of git. It would be better to use only one folder and create a tag for each version. I can help with that if you want :)

You're so right ! I have all versions in diferent folders. with items not
copied because they didn't change between versions..

It's been a long time since i've used tags for versioning, i should re work
that.. certainly.

I can try to that in my fork and then you could draw inspiration from it ? is the stl/release folder for parts that you currently ship ? and dev for experimental stuff ?

Unfortunately not. i need to clean out .. actually we ship 0.4.9.2 ( with
corresponding plates ) in dev.

I'm very interested about how to pass from actual state to history with
tags ?
