I'm a contracted Software Developer, DevOps Engineer and Electrical Technician. In my spare time I enjoy writing software for the open-source community. I deal a lot with Docker on a day-to-day basis and have experience in embedded Linux development.
Over the past decade I have been integral to a number of open-source projects:
- I have worked to bring Linux based media players to AMLogic SoC. Co-developing EmbER - a JEOS Linux based on Buildroot and one of the first ports of Kodi to AML8726-M6 devices.
- Briefly maintained a Docker container solution of Tizonia - A command-line cloud music player for Linux.
- Developed the Docker deployment solution for The Jarvis Web Gateway - a lightweight web-service framework for accessing databases.
- Wrote the original 'libraryoptimise' project which later was re-written to Unmanic.
- Wrote Unmanic - the library optimiser.
- Created various add-ons for Kodi and LibreELEC.
These days I dedicate much of my open-source development to Unmanic. Unmanic is a simple, yet powerful tool for optimising your video/audio library to a single, uniform format. Designed to be quick and easy to setup for "lay users", while providing power users with tools that they need to automate a number of other optimisation processes.
Your sponsorship helps to support future development of my work. All of my open-source development is done in my spare time and distracts me from contract work that would otherwise earn me money. I enjoy carrying out this open-source development for all my application users and your support helps me to offset these financial losses that I incur by not focusing all my time on contracted proprietary software development.
