Become a sponsor to Lynn Root

Hi! I'm Lynn Root, and I'm a software engineer working on infrastructure at Spotify, and am based in NYC.

I have been an active member of the Python community since 2012 when I first started the PyLadies San Francisco chapter PyLadies geek logo (just so I could have friends to help me learn how to code!), led many workshops and events, and grew it into the largest PyLadies chapter before moving to NYC in 2016.

Since starting the SF chapter, I've helped PyLadies become a world-wide grassroots organization that's now over 100 chapters and on every continent except Antartica (:eyes: there's a sponsor tier to help me fix that :eyes:).

You might have seen me given a talk or read a blog post on asyncio in production, audio processing in Python at scale, distributed tracing your Python services, how Kerberos actually works, how to spy with Python, or how I am really a fraud and not a real programmer.

What I'm Working On

I maintain interrogate, a tool that assesses how much documentation coverage there is in a codebase (think coverage for docstrings). It also has the best logo of any project I know. pink sloth - interrogate logo

I am the Chair of the PyLadies' first-ever Global Council. On the council, we look for ways to support our chapters and grow the PyLadies community. I also help organize the annual PyLadies auction at PyCon US - our main fundraising event.

I enjoy writing in-depth blog posts and I want to continue to write more helpful, tutorial-like content.

What Your Sponsorship Will Do

My day job can wear me out. And with that, there's little motivation to code or write technical posts. But you can fix that. It's not the dollar amount that would motivate me, it's just the act of sponsoring. It tells me that what I can contribute to the open source community is something of value. And it means the world to me!

@econchick

It ain't the dollar amount that's important! just knowing folks thinking I'm doing something worth-while is amazing 😍
