Same here. I first tried to create an account using GitHub, which showed this message. Trying to sign in afterwards gave the same message.

Seeing the same error the past several days:

It looks like the external account you're trying to link is already associated with a different user
We plan to add support for accounts merge in the near future, but for now you have the options to either use that account separately, or remove one of the accounts.
