Unable to access web admin after a fresh install

I'm attempting to setup Stalwart Mail Server v8.0.1 on a Debian 12 and I am unable to access the web interface due to the following 404 error on both the root and /login:

{"type":"about:blank","status":404,"title":"Not Found","detail":"The requested resource does not exist on this server."}

I've attempted accessing the webpage on both 8080 and 443, using the domain name, IP, and localhost. I also made sure that the lookup.default.hostname option in config.toml was set correctly incase the internal web server uses it for routing.

Despite this, it looks like I can successfully authenticate with stalwart-cli, which seems to use the /api route.

This behavior is identical regardless of whether I use the install.sh script or the provided docker images, following the official install steps here.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Please check your server logs, probably Stalwart was not able to download the webadmin bundle for some reason.

Ah, that's the issue! The mail server is being installed in a network with a mandatory outgoing proxy and the native system CA store is not being consulted while attempting to fetch the bundle.

It looks like reqwest is being used with rustls-tls-webpki-roots instead of rustls-tls-native-roots. rustls_platform_verifier could be another suitable option that would allow native CAs to be used on systems where they exist, but fall back to built-in CAs if not. I can open an issue if you're interested to making a change like this.

Also, are you planning on eventually bundling the webadmin with the mail-server software or is fetching it at runtime the long term solution?

It is done like that in order to support automatic updates. You can also retrieve the webadmin bundle from a local file if you don't want the server to download external resources.
