After installing ha-hoymiles-wifi via HACS and entering the IP of the inverter, the connection attempt fails immediately
One interesting thing I've noticed is when I enter the IP of another device on my network, it takes longer to load until the connection attempt fails.

I find the following error in the Home Assistant logs:

Image

I can ping the IP of the inverter via the Home Assistant terminal:

Image

DTU:

  • Hardware Version: H00.01.00
  • Firmware Version: V00.01.11

Inverter:

  • Hardware Version: H00.04.00
  • Firmware Version: V01.02.01

Additional context
The inverter is connected to the Wi-Fi and the data can be viewed via the Hoymiles app. Home Assistant is installed on a Raspberry Pi, which is connected to the network via LAN.

You might need to retry tomorrow when the sun is up again since the DTU typically only responds in those periods.

I already tried it this morning around 10 a.m., same error. I just reinstalled ha-hoymiles-wifi shortly before 5pm, so it shows that the error occurred there for the first time. Nevertheless, I will try again tomorrow at noon.

Another thing you could try is your firewall / network settings.
I have seen similar reports where a guest network was not correctly setup.

To verify you can directly connect to the WIFI of the inverter and enter its gateway address into HA.

I can connect to the internal WiFi of the inverter via WiFi from my cell phone. What do you mean by “gateway address”, where can I find it?
So far I have gone via my WiFi router and received the IP there.

How can I be sure that the IP address I received from the WiFi router is the correct one and not another device?
I suspect that the IP address was not displayed in the WiFi router, because now that it is dark, the same IP addresses are still being displayed and, as I understand it, the inverter should not have an active connection to the WiFi.

Is it possible that I didn't see the inverter in my WiFi router, even though it was communicating with the Hoymiles Cloud and I can view the inverter and solar panel data online?

To determine if the issue is with your setup or the integration, try connecting your Home Assistant instance directly to the inverter’s Wi-Fi. Once connected, the inverter's IP address should be 10.10.100.254, which you can use in the integration.

If the integration still doesn’t work, it might indicate either an incorrect IP address or a problem with your network configuration.

Since you mentioned being able to ping the IP address even when it’s dark, it’s likely that the IP you’re using is incorrect. The inverter's MAC address typically starts with 54:F2:9F:.... Additionally, look for a device named DTUBI-XXXXXXXX - this should correspond to your inverter.

Bonjour, J'ai le même problème de connexion avec mon DTU-PRO-S (Hôte*)

There are some mentions that connection via Ethernet requires some additinal setup / firmware update. Is you DTU-PRO connected via Wifi or Ethernet?
