What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. create shortcut on home screen to any foursquare venue
2. open venue using that shortcut
3. attempt to check in

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
 - i would expect to be able to check in. the problem is that EVERY TIME i try to open a venue through a shortcut, i get the "your phone thinks you're too far away" message. it worked prior to the last update - i think the problem lies in that the GPS is not being requested when a venue is opened via shortcut (the GPS icon never appears in the notification bar on my HTC incredible)...

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
phone: HTC incredible
OS: android 2.2
4sq: v2010-12-22
