Describe the question

When I enter a directory where yt-dlp downloads files, there's a fragment file that keeps appearing and disappearing very frequently (more than once a second), which is distracting. That triggers continuously triggers new Run preloader 'video' action and I can hear my CPU fans running.

Even outside of the directory, I can see the "size" of the directory (380B) rapidly bounce between 380B and 400B.

Anyone else experiencing the same?

P.S. Unrelated, but checking for mimetypes is what's responsible for the slow colorizing of the files? It takes my modern PC about 2 seconds to show them and i can also hear the CPU fan working during this time for a directory containing mostly 120 files (mostly video files). On nnn file manager it is literally instant (I never see it "load" or see increased CPU usage). The coloring of the files look like LS_COLORS--I'm not sure if that's responsible or a coincidence.

but checking for mimetypes are what's responsible for the slow colorizing of the files
