Cannot find module '../lightningcss.win32-x64-msvc.node'

tried setting up tailwindcss v4 with react+vite project and getting this error

Node version - 22.13
"vite": "^6.1.0"
"tailwindcss": "^4.0.7"

error when starting dev server:
Error: Cannot find module '../lightningcss.win32-x64-msvc.node'

tried reinstalling and deleting node modules. still getting error. i am following the exact steps from the tailwind docs with vite-plugin

since create-react-app is deprecated, I wanted to migrate to using vite. I am new to this. any help is appreciated

The issue was solved after instaling Microsoft redistributable package. download from here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170

Finally solved the issue by reseting the whole system.

Guys my laptop is rejecting this Visual C++ exe
It fails
I used the links provided and I downloaded the exe
But it failed to install

I was facing the same issue.

Installing VC_redist.x64.exe didn’t work, and changing my Node version didn’t help either.
After trying various things, I decided to give yarn a shot as a long shot—and somehow it worked.

I have no idea why, but I just wanted to share this information.
