Would it make sense to merge https://techworkerscoalition.org/subscribe/ and https://news.techworkerscoalition.org/subscribe/ ?

Anyone who subscribes (or attempts to at least) should be auto subscribed to the newsletter. I made a pullrequest on the wheeli subscribe form. If this is approved techworkersco/wheelie#5 then we could either close one of the subscribe pages/keep it, or merge/redirect it to techworkerscoalition.org/subscribe

I think for SEO/maintenance reasons, could be better to have a single subscribe form?

cc @kidmillions I need you to validate whether the MAILCHIMP API_Key still exists or not

@shushugah Hey, sorry for not following up on this sooner! 😅 (It totally fell off my radar.)

I think it makes sense to keep the subscribe forms separate -- they are not mutually inclusive in my view. I can see lots of folks who may wish to sign up for the newsletter emails, but not necessarily be added to Slack and go through that whole process, etc.

I also think it makes a lot of sense to have the email subscribe form on the newsletter site itself.

However, I think it would be useful/helpful to either:

(1) Add a "subscribe to newsletter" checkbox on https://techworkerscoalition.org/subscribe/. Basically what you have in techworkersco/wheelie#5 -- but we should probably make that opt-in explicit. (The checkbox could be pre-checked.)
or
(2) Add some other link out to the newsletter. Something like: "In addition, you can subscribe to our newsletter here."
